What is the difference between conditional discharge and probation?

Conditional Discharge is simply referred to as non-reporting probation. If convicted of a felony, you will generally be placed on probation or, if you are sentenced to prison, you will be placed on mandatory supervised release upon the completion of your prison sentence. Conditional discharge is typically imposed on people convicted of misdemeanors. Probation and conditional discharge terms can be the same. Probation is generally more invasive of your life than conditional discharge.
